In 2014, Meow Meow were united by their shared interest in sexuality, film and politics. "When we work as a collective, we can share our creative process with our friends and colleagues and become aware of the limits of our own experience. This project provides us with a space to grow; individually and artistically. We're always looking for the subversive powers of sexuality and the potential of joy as criticism in our films – either narratively or purely visually, trashy or discursive."
Meow Meow view porn as a magnifying glass held onto society at large and try to shed light on some of its darker corners. Meow Meow is not willing to compromise on artistic ideas and remains noncommercial. In the meantime, their project has stretched a tentacle into the local and international porn industry through world-wide film screenings and collaborations.
