Extending her feminist philosophy, Julia Schönstädt endeavours to support gender equality and to strengthen women in the creative sector. Her style is sensual, modern, and aesthetic. Also, Julia is part of the organisation "Equal Lens", that campaigns for representation of female and non-binary fotographers.

Julia Schönstädt is an award-winning portrait photographer and video director working in London and Berlin. Additionally, she acts as a commercial videographer. She studied Photo Design at the legendary Berliner Lette Verein and received a full stipend at the University of London, where she graduated from her Masters with honours. By combining creative expression and commercial skills, she created her own distinctive style. Her "16 Bars Project" – a critical exploration of the German penitentiary system – was recognised and distinguished by The Guardian in 2014. Soon after in 2015, the German publisher Asso published her book on the same topic.
