Made in Berlin: five explicit short films of the alternative porn scene

Katy, Finn, Jo, Candy and Theo are old acquaintances: Five friends who have been shaping Berlin's alternative porn scene for years and already brought several short films into being. In 2019, these five first joined together for a large joint project: URBAN SMUT. An anthology of five erotic short films featuring their adopted home Berlin was the plan. Every team member had the task to film one part each. The rules: They all support each other during film production. The shooting process should be fair and transparent, and also respect the needs of performers and crew members. And of course all five films should be aesthetic high quality – but sex can get down to the nitty-gritty. For one and a half years, the team mulled over ideas, crafted scripts, casted performers and crew members – and in a joint effort finally filmed all five fantasies. The result is an explosive mix of completely differing approaches to staging sex in an urban space. Throughout the five films, a broad spectrum of sexual practices is revealed, from voyerism, erotic wrestling and cruising to consensual overpowering fantasies. The episodes shimmer between queer and straight, BDSM and vanilla sex, raw and intimate. There's just one thing you won't find in any of the five episodes: routine couple sex in a marital bed.
