Director and performer Jaime Acker questions constructs such as gender and power in his portrait and performance art. His provocative work focuses on identity, body, intimacy and the deconstruction of stigma and shame.
In 2014, Jaime Acker graduated from his fully funded studies at the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University. Over the years, Jaime's work has been selected for events, such as Slideluck Dallas. In 2015, he was nominated for his first FUNd Grant by the Contemporary Art Dealers of Dallas and later also was nominated for the Artpace International Artist in Residence of Artpace in San Antonio, Texas. Jaime has completed two artist residencies in Berlin. He was chosen to participate and speak on his work experience at a meeting at the Institut für Alles Possible and Picture Berlin. Jaime has exhibited and published his work in the US, Germany, Austria and the United Kingdom. Moverover, Jaime's provocative and persuasive video work has been shown at porn film festivals in Berlin, Vienna and San Francisco.
