Ann Antidote

the shibari performer

Ann Antidote is a Shibari (Japanese rope-tying art) performer in Berlin. She is at home in the world of video, installation and sound. Her work is shaped by her activist cause that especially revolves around anti-discrimination policies in queer, polyamorous and sex-positive matters. Her art often results from collaborations with other persons and has been shown in any context from sex parties to galleries and biennials.

Ann Antidote originally studied Physics but in 2009, she hung up her career in this field. Many of her projects emerged from the collective "The Strange Life of the Savages". Today, Ann is an autodidactic artist and activist working with bondage, video, performance and the creation of soundscapes. She actively pursues the goal that polyamorous, queer and sex-positive lifestyles should be defined as actual life options that deserve respect. She also incorporates this in her work as a teacher and artist. At the moment, she focuses intensely on her music projects and films, which she produces in collaborations with other artists.
