AORTA Films LLC

AORTA films is an award-winning studio creating explicit and experimental queer cinema: passionate, opulent, glorious.

Under creative director Mahx Capacity, AORTA films produce monthly short films as well as longer feature films and organise various innovative programmes including festivals, projects with guest artists, workshops and commercial cooperations. Our films focus on performers with varying bodies and identities. Originating from the queer BDSM community and experimental performance contexts, our studio works cooperatively and prioritises safe and enthusiastically consensual work processes. We are obsessed with creating hot, filthy content that celebrates queer identity and explodes with lust.

AORTA's work has been presented at film showings, festivals, in galleries and museums in the US, South America and Europe, including the Porn Film Festival in Berlin, London, Vienna and Athens, the Hacker Porn Film Festival (Rome), POP PORN (Brazil), Excéntrico Fest (Chile), MIX Copenhagen, International Queer and Migrant Film Festival (Amsterdam), Berlin Feminist Film Week, Hot Bits (Philly), SECS Fest (Seattle), BRIEFS (Oakland), EVERYBOOTY at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (NYC), Kink Out at MoMa PS1 (NYC) and at the Institute of Contemporary Arts (London). Our films were commissioned by The Invisible Dog Art Center and financially supported by a stipend from the Effing Foundation for Sex-Positivity.
