Das Diktat

the outdoorsman

Hidden behind "Das Diktat" (the dictation) is stylist Sebastian Dominic Auer. He studied Costume and Stage Design at the Academy of Fine Arts Munich and increasingly turned towards the medium film. His work includes video installations, fashion films, music videos and art films.

During his career as stage and costume designer, his focus increasingly shifted towards film because of his collaboration with film director Hubert Schmelzer. This collaboration produced among others the video installation "Vaterhaus – The Visit" (2013) and the feature film "Holy Black" (2017).

His diploma thesis "HEIMAT XXX" (2016) received the Lolly Award for "Best German Short" at the 11th XPOSED International Queer Film Festival Berlin. "HEIMAT XXX" (=home) was the first short film published by Auer's label "DAS DIKTAT". Since then, he produced music vidoes, fashion films, video installations and art films under this label.
